One-up your Friends this Mt Hood Winter Season: “I don’t sled; I dog-sled!”
How many counting fingers do you need for all the people you know that have been dogsledding on Mt Hood? If the answer is zero then this may be your chance for first-time glory! If the answer is 1 then this may be your chance for recovery!
Now, of course, we’re not trying to insinuate that diversifying one’s alternative activities is some kind of competition between all associates and comrades alike–we’re telling you that it is exactly that :). The Winter season is full of limited time opportunities and so we have to strike while the iron is cold. Here are some ideas for some unique and fantastic experiences you can have this year (while staying at Miller Farm Retreat). Our suggestion would be to go ahead and spend a week with us and try them all. Who know? You may be a simple week away from finding your new life’s passion!
Mt Hood’s Alternate Activities List:
- Sled Dog Tours: This ancient tradition is a must-try for all those families and couples out there. The tour leaders are great teachers and guides, the system of mushers is complex and interesting, and the exhilaration of getting out in the open air and feeling like the humans of old is unmatchable. For more information, check out this link here.
- Sleigh Rides: If dogs aren’t your kind of riding animals, then perhaps horses will better suit your fancy. This activity isn’t quite as dynamic and radical as dog-sledding, but it’s definitely more romantic and comfortable. This site here will direct you to all your sleigh ride needs. To all of the fellows out there, what do you think, possible proposal activity ?
- Snowmobiling: Ratchet things up a notch, get more modern and less romantic with a snowmobile adventure! Weave your way through the trees (disclaimer: don’t crash!) and discover new areas of Mt Hood magic on your own, or rented, snowmobile. We’ve got plenty of parking at MFR so don’t worry about bringing your snowmobiles on a trailer. By the end of a week you might be able to explore all 400 miles of Mt Hood ‘mobile trails! Check here for more info and details
And of course, don’t forget our snowshoeing entry from a couple weeks back! That’s got some more great info on a possible alternative Winter activity on Mt Hood this year!
Also, as always, you can contact us here at MFR for more details on any winter activity nearby so that you can add the excitement to the comfort of your stay with us.
