The Rare And Delightful Winter Wedding in Oregon
Has the thought of a white winter Oregon wedding been mulling about in your head? Perhaps you’re thinking, yeah, it would be beautiful and unique, and the timing would be great, but then there’s always that one possibility that swoops in and blocks all those good vibes: too cold? Yes, perhaps. And yet….
Ever heard the idea that ‘wet is cold so snow is gold’? You probably haven’t since we just now made it up, but the idea is still there. Wet, rainy winter days in Oregon are bone-chillingly cold, but snowy days are manageable (if not downright pleasant). Rain soaks you, goes right through your clothes and down to the core of your body, but snow lightly glides off, adding a gorgeous white halo for any blushing bride. And unlike the rest of Oregon, which is mainly the former rain-and-bone-chill type of weather, the Hood River and Mt Hood area is ripe for the latter gliding-halo-gorgeous-snow type of weather.
And the months of December, January and February are full of good snow up here, so if you’re going to have your winter wedding at any time, why not plan it for one of those big 3?
