Roots That Run Deep. Love That Runs Deeper

Miller Farm Retreat has a rich history as one of Hood River Valley’s pioneering apple orchard farms, and has been producing great fruit since 1903. We are close to year-round ski slopes, lush lavender farms, wildflower hiking trails, and the world’s best windsurfing

Our Family has been in the Hood River area for many years. The immense beauty and rawness of the nature are what drove our first family member here, and it is what has kept their ancestors many years later.

Donald Miller lived an exciting life. He purchased the Miller Farm in the early 1900s. His love for the land drew him to the pristine property and ultimately to The Arctic where he took place in Operation Sub-Zero as a photographer. Donald was a “ smart and loving man” who possessed a deep love for the land and the animals that inhabit it.

Donald introduced Penguins to the Portland Zoo as seen in the cover of the 1963 Edition of The Oregonian.

From Our Family to Yours

Donald Miller lived an exciting life. He purchased the Miller Farm in the early 1900s.
